I was there. There. On the Great Wall. This incredible masterpiece that crosses China through 21 196 kilometres (just this number is ridiculous because it's so big), measures 6 to 7 metres high on 4 to 5 metres large, is simply stunning. It runs through the mountains like a giant snake made of stones. Imagining that it dates back to 221 B.C. and is still standing blows my mind. I moreover imagine all the people who worked on its construction, all the lives taken to make it and then to defend it and it also blows my mind. Nothing is straight or the same size there, neither the walls nor the floor or the stairs. It was made this way for the invaders to get tired quickly because they couldn't find any rhythm so they had to stay focused and eventually stop. Pure genius.
